As The Gateway Pundit reported, Garcia Abrego’s removal triggered an uproar from the radical left, who immediately jumped to portray the convicted thug as a “Maryland man” and a “father of three” — conveniently leaving out his MS-13 affiliation.
Garcia Abrego, known for his ties to one of the world’s most brutal gangs, was arrested in 2019 alongside two other MS-13 members. Despite overwhelming evidence linking him to criminal activities, an activist judge blocked his deportation at the time, citing so-called “safety concerns” if he returned to El Salvador.
That ruling, however, became void when President Trump officially designated MS-13 as a foreign terrorist organization, stripping Garcia Abrego of any chance of staying in the U.S. legally. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller summed it up clearly: Garcia Abrego was “no longer eligible for any form of immigration relief in the United States.”
Even after being caught again in 2022 in Tennessee during a human trafficking bust, federal authorities under the Biden administration shockingly ordered his release instead of deporting him immediately.
To make matters worse, court documents reveal a history of domestic violence against his own wife, Jennifer Vasquez. According to a 2021 protection order, Garcia Abrego punched Vasquez, ripped her clothing, and left her bruised — yet Democrat leaders still rush to his defense.
Despite his violent history, leftist politicians treat Garcia Abrego as some kind of folk hero. Following Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen’s recent trip to El Salvador — where he reportedly sipped margaritas with the convicted gangster — House Democrats decided to make their own pilgrimage.
Representatives Robert Garcia (CA), Maxwell Frost (FL), Yassamin Ansari (AZ), and Maxine Dexter (OR) traveled to El Salvador this week to push for Garcia Abrego’s release. Fortunately, their absurd request was quickly shot down by Salvadoran authorities.
Not content with just words, Pritzker is now weaponizing the entire Illinois government. He has ordered the Illinois State Board of Investment, the State Universities Retirement System, and the Teachers’ Retirement System to comb through and possibly yank any investments tied to Salvadoran companies.

Pritzker also directed the Department of Central Management Services to locate and cancel any state contracts with firms controlled by El Salvador. On top of that, he’s demanding a full analysis of Illinois’s trade relations with the country, hinting at a full economic boycott.
According to WGN TV, Pritzker’s marching orders are clear: El Salvador must be punished economically for daring to keep a convicted gang member behind bars.
Critics argue Pritzker’s latest grandstanding has less to do with “human rights” and everything to do with building his globalist résumé for a potential 2028 presidential run. After all, the Illinois governor has been busy signing flashy international agreements with Mexico and the United Kingdom — all while crime, corruption, and decay continue to ravage his own state.
At the end of the day, it’s clear where Pritzker’s priorities lie — not with the American people, but with violent criminals who have no place in our country.
