During an interview on Fox News on Sunday, Mike Pompeo, the former secretary of state under President Trump, was unrelenting in his condemnation of his former employer.
After claiming that previous president Donald Trump was not a “true Conservative leader,” Pompeo said that, should he run and succeed in the 2024 election, he would be a superior leader.

“I think a President Pompeo or any conservative president will do better than not only we did during the four years of the Trump administration, but Barack Obama, George Bush,” Pompeo told Shannon Bream of Fox.
“The list is long of folks who come to Washington on one theory and aren’t prepared to stand up and explain to the American people how we’re actually going to get that right. The system is at risk if we don’t get it right. We have $31 trillion in the hole. We’ve got to begin to grow the economy and build it back with lower taxes. When we do that and grow our economy, we’ll get it right. It’s when you take a true conservative leader.”
“Are you saying President Trump wasn’t a true conservative leader,” Bream asked Pompeo. “Six trillion dollars more in debt, that’s never the right direction for the country,” Long-time Republican leader replied.
