In a surprising twist within conservative media circles, Newsmax anchor Greg Kelly has taken a bold stance against Pete Hegseth, former Fox News contributor and Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense. During a segment on “American Agenda,” Kelly didn’t hold back in voicing his opposition, calling Hegseth “the wrong man for the Pentagon.”
“I think he is the wrong man for the Pentagon. I think he should not be the Defense Secretary,” Kelly stated during his show. “At one point I supported Pete Hegseth… but it got a lot more intense last weekend.”

Kelly detailed his long-standing disagreements with Hegseth, dating back to their early interactions at Fox News. “I’ve known Pete, I actually first met Pete, I think maybe in 2007, 2008, when I was on the Fox News channel. He would come and promote the forever war,” Kelly said. He expressed disapproval of Hegseth’s defense of the Iraq War, adding, “He would come as an Iraq war veteran and say what a great thing the Iraq war was… I disagreed with him strongly. I still disagree with him.”
