Pentagon Crash: Multiple Personnel Injured

A routine Friday morning quickly spiraled into chaos just outside the Pentagon after two commuter buses collided during peak rush hour, leaving dozens injured and raising fresh concerns about safety along one of the nation’s most sensitive transportation corridors.

The crash unfolded just after sunrise, at a time when traffic into the Pentagon complex is typically at its heaviest. What began as an ordinary commute for federal workers and civilians alike turned into a scene of flashing lights, emergency sirens, and confusion as first responders rushed to assist the injured.

Authorities confirmed the collision occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Metro Access Road, a key artery feeding directly into the Pentagon. The roadway is heavily used by both government personnel and public transit vehicles, making the incident especially disruptive.

Two buses were involved in the accident — one operated by OmniRide and the other by Fairfax Connector. The impact between the vehicles triggered an immediate emergency response, with police, firefighters, and medical teams converging on the scene within minutes.
