Pence demonstrated a willingness to consider the expectations of Trump’s supporters in relation to the events of January 6th, despite the potential repercussions.
On January 4, Vice President Pence warned Trump supporters that their complaints about the election results will be heard in Congress on January 6. Objections to the results in certain states would be raised, and evidence would be contested.
Pence’s comment demonstrates the lack of legitimacy of the attempt to charge Trump on January 6th with seditious conspiracy and obstruction of Congress.
