On Tuesday, the man who was detained the previous year for allegedly assaulting Paul Pelosi, the spouse of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in their opulent San Francisco home, gave evidence in court.
Accused David DePape said in court that he “planned to wear an inflatable unicorn costume and broke into Nancy Pelosi’s home to speak to her about Russian involvement in the 2016 election,” as reported by the New York Post.

During his testimony, DePape, who occasionally sobbed, revealed his plans to have the then-Speaker and other prominent “targets” confess to being corrupt in order to finally persuade President Joe Biden to pardon them all.
Remarkable testimony indicates that on October 28, 2022, after a break-in, DePape found Paul at home instead of Nancy, who had been viciously assaulted with a hammer.
“He was never my target, and I’m sorry he got hurt,” DePape, 43, said of Paul Pelosi, in a San Francisco courtroom. “I reacted because my plan was ruined,” stating that he tried to convince Biden to forgive his targets “so we can move forward as a country.”
Fully engrossed in video games, he acknowledged that he was consuming political podcasts and right-wing theories to keep his mind sharp. He may spend as much as six hours a day on this process.

Rubin answered, “Absolutely not,” when asked if she condoned child abuse by DePape’s defense lawyer.
DePape, according to the prosecution, had a list of other “targets” that included actor Tom Hanks, millionaire George Soros, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Rep. Adam Schiff, and President Joe Biden’s son Hunter.
Paul Pelosi gives an engrossing account on his heroic escape from captivity.
“The door opened and a very large man came in with a hammer in one hand and some ties in the other and he said, ‘Where’s Nancy?’ And I think that woke me up,” Paul Pelosi testified. “I recognized I was in danger.”
He had the audacity to get DePape to transfer from the bedroom upstairs to the main level of the opulent estate in anticipation of the police showing up. But as seen in bodycam video, DePape suddenly grabbed a hammer and attacked Paul a short while later.
“Pelosi sustained a fractured skull and suffered serious wounds to his right arm and hands in the attack and was hospitalized for several days for treatment,” The Post added.

In a landmark decision, Judge Stephen Murphy allowed credentialed media representatives to view the documents, requiring the district attorney’s office to furnish them.
Unsure about her choice, Nancy Pelosi was hesitant to see the video.
“I mean, it would be a very hard thing to see an assault on my husband’s life,” she said.
“It’s one day at a time,” About her husband’s recuperation, she stated. “He’s made some progress, but it will be about three more months, I think, before he’s back to normal.”
