He pressed Bondi even further, insisting that the U.S. was practically fueling the Mexican cartels’ military might. “No, you’re allowing them to be purchased in the United States and driven across the border. Most of these gangs have completely turned themselves into military organizations because they’re using American weapons, American technology, and your argument is that, well, we’re not doing anything about them,” Reed declared.
Unfortunately for Reed, Bondi came prepared with hard data and wasn’t about to let Democrats rewrite the record.
Bondi Fires Back With Brutal Facts
Bondi unleashed a response so sharp it could have sliced steel. She flatly rejected Reed’s claim that Trump’s administration let weapons walk into cartel hands.
“We are arresting people who have illegal firearms in our country,” Bondi shot back. “We’re not sending people back to Mexico with guns. We’re throwing them in our jails and prosecuting them.”
And she wasn’t done. Bondi took direct aim at Biden-era open-border policies that fueled the chaos.
“No, not my argument. That was the policy of the last four years of the Biden administration with open borders,” Bondi fired back. “You could come back and forth across our borders. You could buy guns. You could take guns off the street.”
Then Bondi connected the dots between open borders and a flood of deadly contraband:
“You could shoot people in our country. You could bring fentanyl into our country. You could bring methamphetamine into our country. You could bring cocaine into our country. That was the previous administration, not this one,” she explained.
Reed was already reeling. But Bondi hadn’t even dropped her biggest bombshell yet.
Bondi Drops the Hammer
Pam Bondi hit Reed—and Democrats by extension—with the one thing they hate most: numbers that prove they’re wrong.
“Our borders are closed. We are arresting illegal cartels. Sinaloa from Mexico, MS-13 from El Salvador, TdA [Tren de Aragua]. We are arresting from Venezuela,” Bondi said.
Then came the statistic that crushed Reed’s narrative entirely:
“ATF has seized over 14,600 guns since Donald Trump has been president. That’s a 33% increase from the last administration. And think about that. That’s when our border is secure. They weren’t doing anything,” Bondi explained.
At that point, Reed went silent. The facts weren’t on his side, and Bondi wasn’t giving him an inch.
Trump’s Team Shows Results
The numbers don’t lie—and they show Trump’s team actually doing the job Democrats merely talk about.
Data from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives revealed nearly 9,700 firearms were intercepted before reaching dangerous hands in Mexico since President Trump’s return to the White House. That’s a stark contrast to the Biden years, which saw weapons and drugs pouring across the border with few consequences.
Meanwhile, U.S. Border Patrol reported zero illegal migrant releases into the U.S. in May—a breathtaking turnaround from the same month in 2024, when Biden’s administration unleashed 62,000 illegal migrants into American cities.
Reed’s claims that Trump wasn’t focused on stopping weapons trafficking simply don’t add up. He tried to insist otherwise, claiming, “I don’t think you’ve done anything to severely interrupt the arming of Mexican gangs because that’s really not what your focus — and I think your focus should be on that.”
But Bondi’s receipts told the real story: the Trump administration has seized 33% more weapons than Biden’s team ever managed.
Democrats Can’t Escape Their Record
Jack Reed’s performance was just the latest proof that Democrats are desperate to dodge blame for the chaos they created. They threw America’s borders open and let criminal syndicates exploit the chaos. Now they want Trump to shoulder the blame for cleaning up their disaster.
Reed tried to turn the hearing into a Trump-bashing spectacle. Instead, Bondi flipped the script and exposed the Democrats’ own failures.
Americans aren’t fooled. They elected President Trump because they’re tired of leaders who talk tough but do nothing to stop deadly drugs, illegal migration, and cartel violence.
Pam Bondi’s grilling of Reed was a powerful reminder that facts—and action—matter more than Democrat finger-pointing.
Reed thought he’d embarrass the Trump administration. Instead, he ended up learning the hard way that this Attorney General doesn’t back down—and won’t let Democrats rewrite history.
