Pam Bondi Cuts Ties—DOJ Perks GONE!

In a bold shake-up to the long-standing privileges of the American Bar Association, Attorney General Pam Bondi has made it official: the ABA’s days of special access to the Department of Justice are over. Citing deep concerns over bias and credibility, Bondi made it clear that the once-respected legal organization is no longer trusted to fairly evaluate federal judicial nominees.

“The American Bar Association has lost its way, and we do not believe it serves as a fair arbiter of judicial nominees,” Bondi stated in a message posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Bondi followed up with a formal letter to ABA President William Bay, detailing the administration’s decision to revoke decades-old privileges granted to the association. For years, the ABA enjoyed exclusive channels to confidential nominee information and even early notice of appointments before the public was informed. Some administrations even relied on ABA ratings to decide whether a nominee would advance.
