The food served to illegal border crossers in New York City hotels is a source of dissatisfaction as it was paid for with public funds.
People who are living in the nation without proper documentation are wasting the free food they receive at a time when many Americans struggle to buy enough food for themselves and their families.

The daily expenditure of the city on this is enormous. Throwing money into the trash would be a more effective strategy.
According to The New York Post:
At shelters in New York City, migrants refuse “bad” sandwiches, pancakes, donuts, and chicken dishes.
Every day, the city spends a fortune on this. A number of migrants admitted to The Post on Friday that the food provided at asylum-seeker shelters in New York City is so “bad” that they frequently just trash it, with some choosing to cook covertly in their rooms. They might as well just throw cash in the trash.
They went on to claim that the food was unappealing the day after it was revealed that many taxpayer-funded, uneaten meals are wasted on asylum seekers every day.
Jesus Alberto, a 31-year-old Venezuelan immigrant, said, “The food is universally disliked,” outside the Roosevelt Hotel, which serves as the main immigration intake point in New York City.
“Without lying, it’s bad, bad.”
The migrants are fed a tasty and varied menu during mealtimes. For breakfast, they are given pancakes and Quecas, a delicious fried tortilla. They dine on filling and nutritious sandwiches for lunch. They are also served delectable dinner options like chicken with spaghetti and alfredo.
Meal waste has declined, in part because asylum seekers are opting to buy their own food rather than relying on meals provided by the city.
This week, migrant families were seen at the Roosevelt with bags full of chips, bread, and pasta as well as strollers brimming with boxes of Cheerios and Cornflakes.
It is not surprising that the reaction to this news is predictable.
The New York taxpayers are being truly disrespected by this situation. For what length of time will people put up with this?
