Georgia conservatives have been waiting for someone to take the fight directly to Senator Jon Ossoff — and now, that challenger has arrived.
Derek Dooley, a former college and NFL football coach with deep Georgia roots, has officially entered the 2026 Senate race. His announcement has already sent shockwaves through the state’s political circles — and caught Democrats by surprise.
Dooley made it clear from the start: he’s running to unseat Ossoff, dismantle the Left’s agenda, and help President Donald Trump carry out his plans for the country.
“I’m running because our state needs new leadership in Washington, D.C., and professional politicians like Jon Ossoff are the problem,” Dooley said in his campaign launch.
