Congress Slams the Door on Socialism
Before New York City’s newly elected socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani even made it to Washington for his first White House visit with President Donald Trump, the House delivered a political sledgehammer. Lawmakers passed a bipartisan resolution condemning the “horrors of socialism” and warning against adopting any of its policies in the United States.
Republican Arkansas Rep. French Hill made the vote sound like common sense, saying, “A yes vote on this resolution should be a relatively straightforward, easy decision. It simply states that Congress denounces socialism in all its forms and opposes the implementation of socialist policies in the United States of America.”
