During her interview with Maria Bartiromo, Noem made it clear she would not be intimidated.
“We are gonna keep doing our jobs,” Noem stated. “President Trump promised the American people that he would make America safe again, that we would be out there enforcing the laws and that we would apply them equally.”
She emphasized that the Trump administration is doing exactly what it promised voters.
“Criminal illegal aliens in this country are going to be brought to justice under his administration, and that’s exactly why we surged resources to Minnesota,” Noem explained.
According to Noem, the scale of corruption and lawlessness in Minnesota made federal intervention unavoidable.
She directly blamed Democrat leadership at both the city and state levels.
“Their corrupt, elected officials at the city level and at the state level allowed fraud to happen, allowed crimes to happen,” Noem said.
The results of the operation speak for themselves.
“We’ve arrested dozens of murderers, rapists, traffickers in that city already and we are gonna continue to do that work to follow through on President Trump’s promises,” she continued.
These were not minor offenders. Noem detailed crimes that had been allowed to continue unchecked under sanctuary policies.
“These sanctuary cities such as Minneapolis are extremely dangerous for American citizens,” Noem declared. “Since we’ve been there, we’ve arrested dozens and dozens of murderers and rapists, individuals who have assaulted children and sodomized them.”
Since the launch of Operation Metro Surge, DHS has arrested more than 1,500 individuals across Minnesota, including convicted murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and gang members.
One particularly disturbing case involved Tomas Espin Tapia, an illegal alien from Ecuador with an active murder warrant in his home country and a sexual assault case in Connecticut. He was released into the United States in 2022 under the Biden administration.
When Bartiromo asked how ICE would respond to violent agitators targeting officers, Noem made the administration’s position unmistakably clear.
“We are sending more officers today and tomorrow that will arrive,” Noem responded. “There will be hundreds more in order to allow our ICE and our Border Patrol individuals that are working in Minneapolis to do so safely.”
She also issued a warning to anyone attempting to obstruct law enforcement.
“If they conduct violent activities against law enforcement, if they impede our operations, that is a crime, and we will hold them accountable to those consequences,” Noem explained.
Despite the overwhelming evidence of danger, Minnesota’s top Democrats continue to resist.
Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have refused to cooperate with ICE, even as violent criminals are taken off the streets.
“They have said they are not gonna help us, so we’ll make sure that we protect our officers, but we also follow through on making sure these criminals are brought to justice,” Noem stated.
Noem rejected Democrat claims that ICE was acting improperly.
“Every single thing that I’ve said has been factual about what’s been going on in Minneapolis, what’s been going on in Minnesota,” she said.
She accused Democrat leaders of deliberately inflaming tensions for political gain.
“It is really, really horrific that we have elected officials that are using this as an opportunity to divide, using this to promote an agenda,” Noem said.
Former ICE Director Tom Homan explained why Minnesota officials have no credibility demanding investigations into federal officers.
“They don’t work with us and that’s one of the problems here,” Homan stated. “This is a sanctuary city. Let’s remember, why are we in the city right now? Because they are a sanctuary city that purposefully releases public safety threats back into the public.”
Frey has compared ICE to Nazis, while Walz previously likened federal agents to the Gestapo and placed the National Guard on standby.
These are the same officials who refused to honor ICE detainers and allowed violent offenders back onto the streets.
Now they are furious that federal officers are protecting themselves and enforcing the law.
Democrats spent years opening the border and shielding criminals.
Kristi Noem and the Trump administration are now forcing accountability, whether sanctuary city politicians like it or not.
Democrats in congress or in any other government position. Are nothing but liars and criminals themselves. Nothing but fucken assholes. Instead of bitching and complaining and throwing hissy fits. They should thank President Trump, Vice President Vance, their cabinet, and ICE for making their city and towns safe again.
