Independent journalist Nick Shirley is signaling that the firestorm surrounding Minnesota’s massive child care fraud scandal is far from over.
After igniting national outrage with his first exposé, Shirley is now promising a second installment that he says will leave corporate media scrambling and critics furious.
The warning came Thursday when Shirley responded to mounting attacks from legacy news outlets attempting to discredit his reporting rather than address the substance of his findings.
“Just wait until I post part 2, they are going to go insane,” he wrote.
Shirley first shook the political and media establishment last week with a 42 minute investigative video documenting Minnesota daycare centers that appeared closed, abandoned, or entirely inactive despite receiving millions of dollars in taxpayer funding.
The footage exploded across social media, drawing more than 134 million views on X alone. The viral response quickly forced federal officials to take action.
