A former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons — and this time, prosecutors are hitting even harder.

Daniel Muir, once known for his powerful presence on the football field, is now facing a stack of new felony charges that could send him to prison for years. The shocking twist comes after investigators uncovered disturbing evidence about the disappearance and alleged abuse of his teenage son.
New Felony Counts Pile On
According to court filings, prosecutors have added battery resulting in serious bodily injury and another obstruction of justice charge to Muir’s existing list of accusations tied to his 14-year-old son Bryson’s disappearance last summer. Muir’s wife, Kristin, has also been charged with obstruction of justice.
The case dates back to July 3, 2024, when a SWAT raid stormed the Muirs’ 117-acre property in Logansport, Indiana — a compound linked to the controversial Straitway Truth Ministry. The raid ended with both parents in handcuffs and the teenager finally located after nearly three weeks missing.
Bryson’s grandmother, Cheryl Wright, told police she was horrified when she last saw the boy. The teen’s face was swollen, bruised, and bloodied — with a black eye and fat lip that left no doubt something was wrong. Wright said she feared the Muirs were hiding Bryson to prevent authorities from discovering how badly he’d been beaten.
