In a shocking display of lawlessness, a mob of teenage bicyclists went on a looting spree across three different 7-Eleven stores in California, barely hours after Governor Gavin Newsom signed a new piece of legislation aimed at curbing the state’s rampant theft problem. The incidents unfolded within a mere 20-minute span in the Hollywood area, as these brazen thieves targeted convenience stores just two miles apart.
The law, which Governor Newsom touted as the most significant piece of legislation addressing property crime in modern California history, had barely been inked when the chaos erupted. According to reports from NBC Los Angeles and the LAPD, approximately 20 thieves, riding bicycles, converged on the first 7-Eleven at 7040 West Sunset Boulevard at around 8 p.m. They broke into the store, shattering windows, and made off with food and drink items.

As the looting spree continued, the mob targeted a second 7-Eleven near Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave. just 16 minutes later. This time, an employee was allegedly assaulted during the raid, escalating the severity of the crimes. Then, in a matter of minutes, the thieves struck again, hitting a third store on Santa Monica Boulevard at 8:22 p.m.
