Georgia State Senator Colton Moore officially threw his hat into the ring Monday, announcing his candidacy to succeed U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who plans to resign from Congress in early January.
“Today I’m entering the race for Georgia’s 14th congressional district because President Trump needs a fighter in Congress who will never flinch and never sell out,” Moore declared in a statement shared with Breitbart News. The move places Moore in a competitive Republican primary in the 14th District, a solidly red seat with an R+19 rating on the Cook Partisan Voting Index.
Moore first gained nationwide attention in 2023 when he spearheaded efforts to impeach Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over her now-abandoned case targeting former President Donald Trump and several of his allies. “The RINO establishment punished me for it, kicked me out of the caucus, banned me from the House floor, and even had me arrested for showing up to do my job. Every time they hit, we hit back harder, and we won bigger,” Moore said while announcing his congressional campaign.
Now, Moore says he plans to bring that same fight to Washington. “With President Trump in the White House, we’re going to finish the job by deporting all illegals, lowering the price of gas and groceries, and stopping socialism in its tracks,” he said, laying out a bold policy agenda for the nation.
