New Jersey’s Democratic administration was rocked by a major political scandal Friday when Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell resigned following an independent investigation that found sexual harassment and multiple violations of state ethics policies.
Caldwell’s departure came less than a year after he entered office alongside Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherrill.
Sherrill had given her lieutenant governor until Friday to step down after the findings of the investigation became public.
