Law enforcement officials revealed new developments Friday in the troubling disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, as investigators confirmed they have obtained surveillance footage believed to be relevant to the case.
According to sources familiar with the investigation, detectives recently acquired video from a nearby gas station located close to Guthrie’s residence. Authorities reportedly visited the location earlier this week, requesting access to security recordings that may shed light on suspicious activity in the area around the time Guthrie vanished.
A gas station employee confirmed that law enforcement specifically asked to review footage involving an unidentified individual who was reportedly seen near the Guthrie home during the critical time window surrounding her disappearance. However, officers did not provide staff with a physical description of the individual they were seeking.
In a related development, a spokesperson for Circle K acknowledged that the company is cooperating with investigators. The spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Mail that while Circle K locations are assisting law enforcement, footage previously aired by Fox News did not originate from any Circle K store.
