In a remarkable blend of faith and science, NASA researchers have traced a lunar event back to A.D. 33 — a finding that could directly tie to the day Jesus Christ was crucified.
Genesis 1 tells us, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years.” Given this divine design, it seems only fitting that the heavens would offer a powerful sign marking the ultimate sacrifice: Christ’s death for humanity’s sins.
According to a New York Post report, NASA’s astronomical simulations revealed that a blood-red moon hung over Jerusalem on Friday, April 3, A.D. 33 — a date many scholars believe matches the timeline of Christ’s crucifixion.
Scripture itself speaks of a dark and foreboding day. The Gospel of Matthew recounts, “Now from the sixth hour [noon] there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.”
