Murder Suspect’s Family Buys New Home With Donations?!

In a development that’s leaving much of the public stunned, the family of 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony—the teen accused of fatally stabbing fellow student Austin Metcalf—has admitted to using part of the more than $400,000 in donation money to purchase a new home and pay for private security.

Originally raised for Anthony’s legal defense, the massive donation haul is now being partially redirected toward what the family claims are urgent safety needs, citing alleged “racist threats” they say began after their home address was leaked online.

The bombshell was dropped during a recent court hearing where Collin County Judge Angela Tucker reduced Anthony’s bond from $1 million to $250,000—requiring only 10% to walk free while awaiting trial. This means Anthony could be out of custody for just $25,000.
