Kemp’s decision, confirmed in a Monday morning post, stunned many in the Republican establishment. After reportedly consulting with both President Trump and Senate leadership, the Georgia governor said, “Being on the ballot next year is not the right decision for me and my family.” He also pledged to help push a conservative nominee to victory, saying, “I look forward to electing the next generation of leaders… who will keep our state and nation headed in the right direction in 2026 and beyond.”
