The situation in Minneapolis continues to deteriorate as federal immigration agents face violent resistance from rioters and agitators emboldened by radical rhetoric from Democrat leadership.
On Wednesday night, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed the arrest of an armed man who assaulted a federal immigration officer during a riot in the city. According to DHS officials, the suspect was not only aggressive but came prepared for violence.
The arrest unfolded amid growing unrest following a series of confrontations between federal agents and protesters opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minnesota.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin detailed the alarming encounter in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Last night during a riot in Minneapolis, a U.S. citizen was arrested for assaulting officers while carrying a firearm,” McLaughlin said.
According to DHS, the suspect arrived at the protest carrying a gun and a box of ammunition concealed inside a bag. Officials say his behavior quickly escalated as tensions rose.
