A quiet Michigan neighborhood was shattered last week by a senseless act of violence that left a young child dead, multiple adults wounded, and a community reeling in disbelief. Authorities say a 21-year-old man deliberately used his vehicle as a weapon before opening fire on a family simply walking along a sidewalk.
The suspect, identified as Alexander Lamar Banks Jr., is accused of plowing his car into four people — three adults and a small child — before exiting the vehicle and unleashing gunfire at close range. The horrifying attack occurred last Friday evening in Delta Township, turning an ordinary family walk into a nightmare that no parent should ever have to endure.
According to law enforcement, Banks allegedly targeted the family without warning. After striking them with his vehicle, he reportedly stepped out and began shooting. Among the victims was 3-year-old Harlow, who was fatally shot during the attack. Despite emergency response efforts, the little girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both parents were seriously injured in the ambush and rushed to receive medical care. Their injuries, while non-fatal, were severe enough to leave them unable to work or function normally as they now face the unthinkable task of grieving their daughter while recovering from trauma.
