Michelle Obama Hit With New Accusation

According to the report, Cheryl Hines—best known for portraying Larry David’s wife on HBO’s hit comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm for all 12 seasons—was never given the opportunity to reunite with the comedian despite their long professional history.

The report alleges that Hines’ marriage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who broke with the Democratic Party before aligning himself with President Trump and eventually joining his administration, became a major obstacle behind the scenes.

Sources quoted by the Daily Mail claimed Michelle Obama strongly opposed Hines participating in the production and allegedly made it clear that casting the actress was unacceptable.

One source told the outlet that Hines had been eager to work alongside David once again after spending years together on one of HBO’s most successful comedy franchises.

“Cheryl felt terribly hurt and emotionally injured because she had worked so closely with Larry for the entire 12 seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm and they had become like bosom buddies.

“Cheryl’s dream was to work with Larry again and be part of the cast of the new show. She firmly believed that the staunch anti-Trumper could put aside his negative political views about MAGA and Kennedy.”

According to the same source, Hines believed her longstanding friendship with David would outweigh political disagreements. Instead, the insider claimed Michelle Obama ultimately held enough influence over casting decisions to prevent the reunion from happening.

The source further alleged:

“But banning Cheryl was a command from Michelle that Larry could not go against, even if he had wanted to, for old time’s sake, and mend their past close ties.

“He always respected her as an actress. But Michelle’s the boss. And you don’t cross the boss, especially a powerful anti-MAGA force like Michelle.”

While the report states Michelle Obama was not involved in writing the show’s scripts, insiders claimed she maintained influence over casting decisions and personally approved guest appearances.

According to those sources, her position on Hines was unmistakable.

“No Cheryl Hines!”

Another individual quoted in the report described Michelle Obama’s management style in blunt terms, saying:

“Michelle can be a b—h on wheels when she wants to.”

The report also claims another insider dismissed the idea that acting ability played any role in the alleged decision. Instead, the source argued Hines’ association with Kennedy and the Trump administration was the real issue.

The insider stated:

“Michelle felt that Cheryl wasn’t any great shakes as an actress, but mainly she felt she was disgustingly all MAGA because she was married to Bobby Kennedy Jr who she described as a turncoat to the Democratic party and a verifiable whack job as Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services.

“Clearly, Michelle’s a victim of what they call Trump Derangement Syndrome, because her true feelings surfaced in her clear-cut rejection of Cheryl.”

The same source continued:

“It had nothing to do with Cheryl as an award-winning actress, but rather her supposed politics because of her marriage to Kennedy and being part of Trump’s inner circle of supporters.”

Larry David himself has long been one of President Trump’s most outspoken critics in the entertainment industry. While promoting the new HBO series, the comedian recently mocked Trump’s planned White House UFC event, saying the spectacle made him “embarrassed to be American.”

Neither HBO, Higher Ground, Larry David, Michelle Obama, Cheryl Hines, nor Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had publicly responded to the allegations at the time the Daily Mail published its report.

If the claims are accurate, critics say the controversy would represent another example of politics overshadowing decades-long professional relationships in Hollywood, where conservative figures and those connected to the Trump administration frequently argue they face exclusion from influential entertainment circles.

For Cheryl Hines, the reported decision would be particularly significant given her lengthy collaboration with Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm, one of HBO’s most successful comedy series.

The allegations have also fueled criticism from conservatives, who argue the entertainment industry continues to apply ideological litmus tests to performers whose political associations differ from the prevailing views inside Hollywood. As of now, however, the claims remain unverified allegations based on unnamed sources, and no public evidence has been presented confirming Michelle Obama’s alleged involvement in the casting decision.
