Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is fuming over explosive reports suggesting President Trump may authorize direct U.S. military action against Mexico’s most powerful drug cartels.

Speaking during her daily press briefing Friday, Sheinbaum pushed back hard on the possibility of American boots on Mexican soil in pursuit of cartel leaders.
“We cooperate, collaborate, but there will be no invasion,” she told reporters.
“That is off the table, absolutely off the table.”
The comments came in response to bombshell reporting from The New York Times claiming that Trump has quietly signed a classified order directing the Pentagon to prepare for military strikes against certain Latin American drug cartels — groups the administration has officially labeled as terrorist organizations.
