Melania Steps Up — Trump Signs It Into Law

First Lady Melania Trump is taking an active role in shaping the administration’s priorities, with a new federal initiative designed to address longstanding questions surrounding women’s health.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday establishing a dedicated Women’s Health Division within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and creating a White House task force to coordinate research and policy across the federal government. The initiative, titled “Advancing Women’s Health to Improve Outcomes in All Phases of Life,” places greater emphasis on medical conditions that affect women uniquely or disproportionately.

The move follows months of work by Melania, who met with physicians and other specialists while advocating for greater attention to gaps in medical research. The administration says the objective is to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment for American women from childhood through their senior years.
