President Donald Trump has been everywhere lately promoting the economic turnaround he says is already underway. But during one appearance at the McDonald’s Impact Summit in Washington DC he delivered one unexpected piece of fast food commentary that instantly went viral. What started as a simple joke about the Filet O Fish turned into a full scale message about affordability that Democrats will not enjoy hearing.
Trump’s fast food advice steals the show
Speaking to franchise owners Trump wasted no time getting playful about the McDonald’s menu. The crowd lit up when he singled out his go to sandwich and made one very specific request.
“I like the fish. I like it. You could do a little bit more tartar sauce though, please,” Trump said.
He added with a grin, “Seriously. I hate when I say, ‘Do you have any tartar sauce?'”
The room erupted when Trump spotted someone nodding in agreement. It was a moment that showed why he connects with everyday Americans. He talks like a real customer who knows the struggles of getting enough sauce at the drive thru.
