McConnell Finally Addresses His Health

McConnell’s Recovery Keeps Him Out of Senate as Intensive Rehab Continues Following Serious Fall

More than six weeks after suffering a serious fall at his Washington, D.C., home, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell remains sidelined as doctors say he has not yet been medically cleared to return to Congress.

The 84-year-old Kentucky Republican has been recovering at a rehabilitation facility since being discharged from the hospital following the June 14 accident. McConnell briefly lost consciousness during the fall, and physicians later determined that he had also developed pneumonia, adding another challenge to his recovery.
