For months, the Clinton camp has insisted they have nothing to hide when it comes to their past connections to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. They have framed congressional scrutiny as political theater. They have challenged Republicans to take their questions into the open.
Then came a single question. And just like that, the bravado appeared to vanish.
After sitting for a long-awaited deposition tied to Oversight Committee inquiries, Hillary Clinton stepped out to face reporters. Cameras were rolling. Microphones were up. And one British journalist asked what many Americans have quietly wondered for years.
“Can I ask, why was [Epstein associate] Ghislaine Maxwell invited … to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010?”
The reporter added context that makes the question harder to shrug off. By the time of the 2010 wedding, Maxwell had already been named in a civil lawsuit connected to Epstein. Epstein himself had already been convicted.
