Americans hoping for a bright start to 2026 have been met with alarming news: escalating terrorism has forced cities around the world to cancel or scale back New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The danger became all too real after a chilling terror plot was uncovered in the United States, leaving major cities scrambling and President Trump expressing outrage.
FBI Foils Coordinated Bombing Plot in California
The FBI announced the arrest of four members of the far-left Turtle Island Liberation Front on December 15. The suspects — Audrey Carroll, 30; Zachary Aaron Page, 32; Dante Gaffield, 24; and Tina Lai, 41 — had allegedly attempted to detonate experimental bombs in the Mojave Desert.
The suspects now face conspiracy and possession of unregistered destructive device charges, accused of plotting simultaneous attacks on multiple Los Angeles locations. Carroll reportedly authored an eight-page handwritten plan titled “Operation Midnight Sun,” detailing a scheme to set off pipe bombs targeting two U.S. companies at midnight on New Year’s Eve.¹
