Major Airline CANCELS DEI Agenda!

Southwest Airlines has announced significant changes to its hiring practices following federal scrutiny over allegations of workplace discrimination. The Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) confirmed the developments in a letter sent to America First Legal (AFL), a conservative legal group that initially filed the complaint.

At the center of the controversy is Southwest Airlines’ compliance with Executive Order 11246, which prohibits discriminatory hiring or promotional practices by federal contractors. America First Legal alleged that Southwest’s focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives amounted to unlawful quotas that sidelined merit-based hiring.

AFL argued that the airline’s DEI policies prioritized certain groups over others, in violation of federal contracting rules. This sparked a federal review, leading to Southwest agreeing to revise its employment policies to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
