A quiet lunch in Little Rock turned into a political flashpoint after an Arkansas restaurant asked Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave, reviving memories of one of the most infamous culture war moments of the Trump era.

Nearly seven years after the Red Hen controversy made national headlines, a similar scene has unfolded again. Same political figure. Same underlying tension. And, critics argue, the same brand of ideological hostility playing out in public.

This time, it happened on Sanders’ home turf.

A Routine Lunch Turns Political

On March 13, Governor Sanders visited The Croissanterie, a popular spot in Little Rock, for what appeared to be a normal outing. She was joined by two other mothers and accompanied by her Arkansas State Police Executive Protection Detail.

By all accounts, the visit started without incident. The group ordered food, ate their meal, paid their bill, and left a tip for staff. There was no disruption, no reported complaints, and no visible tension during the meal itself.
