A firestorm erupted online this week after Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney appeared in a lighthearted new ad campaign for American Eagle — but what was intended as a playful fashion promo has turned into yet another example of the radical left losing its grip on reality.
The campaign, titled “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” sparked immediate outrage among progressive activists who claim the messaging is somehow racist. Yes, you read that right — the fashion ad, featuring the blonde, blue-eyed star known for her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You, is now being accused of promoting “white supremacy” and even “eugenics.”
The offense? A wordplay pun on “genes” and “jeans.” In the ad, Sweeney is shown walking past a billboard that reads “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes.” She then cheekily crosses out “Genes” and writes “Jeans” instead. That’s it. No speeches. No statements. Just a harmless pun — and yet, the left went ballistic.
Here is the ad:
Liberal commentators from corporate media outlets like MSNBC, The Washington Post, Salon, and Good Morning America wasted no time declaring the campaign offensive. Some went so far as to claim the ad is coded with what they’re calling “Nazi messaging.”
