New York Attorney General Letitia James is facing renewed scrutiny after a prosecutor from inside her own office reportedly met with federal investigators over allegations that he was pressured to pursue President Donald Trump and people connected to him.
Daniel Wiesenfeld, a former Brooklyn prosecutor and attorney working in James’ office, reportedly spent several hours Tuesday speaking with criminal and civil attorneys from the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice, according to sources cited by the New York Post.
The meeting adds a new dimension to allegations that have already triggered an internal controversy within the New York Attorney General’s Office.
