Basketball icon LeBron James claimed his passionate endorsement of Kamala Harris was a heartfelt message “for my kids.” But now, newly uncovered federal records are painting a much different picture — one that suggests it may have been more about the paycheck than the politics.
According to recently filed campaign finance disclosures, Harris’s presidential campaign funneled $50,000 to SpringHill Entertainment LLC, a media company co-owned by LeBron, shortly after his viral pro-Harris post. The expense, buried in a mountain of end-of-campaign filings, was listed as a “campaign event production” and dated January 28, 2025 — just days before the election.

The now-controversial post, shared to James’s nearly 100 million followers, came off as a deeply personal plea. “When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!” James wrote.
