According to law enforcement sources, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the man accused of gunning down Kirk during his speech at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, threatened to kill himself when his own father confronted him about the murder.

Robinson’s father, a veteran police officer, recognized his son after authorities released updated photos of the suspected shooter on Thursday. When Robinson returned home, his father didn’t hesitate — he confronted him head-on.
The New York Post reported that Robinson immediately admitted to being the gunman once his father pressed him on the horrific crime.
