That revelation now appears misleading at best and potentially a deliberate omission.
These newly declassified documents were handed over to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who has been a bulldog in holding the FBI accountable. It was Grassley who first raised the red flags about why this intelligence was buried instead of brought into public scrutiny.
Kash Patel did not mince words in his statement to Just The News:
“Thanks to the oversight work and partnership of Chairman Grassley, the FBI continues to provide unprecedented transparency at the people’s Bureau,” Patel said.
“To that end, we have located documents Chairman Grassley requested, which detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 U.S. election.”
But Patel wasn’t finished. He added:
“Specifically, these include allegations of plans from the CCP to manufacture fake driver’s licenses and ship them into the United States for the purpose of facilitating fraudulent mail-in ballots – allegations which, while substantiated, were abruptly recalled and never disclosed to the public.”
In compliance with Grassley’s request, Patel confirmed that he had moved to declassify the files immediately and pass them along to the senator for formal examination.
While these stunning claims about China were being smothered inside the FBI, then-Director Wray continued to sound the alarm about Russia. In testimony delivered just weeks before the election, Wray stated that Russia was “absolutely intent” on interfering in U.S. elections. He made no mention of the Chinese plan Patel now says was backed by real evidence.
Wray’s handling of election-related threats has long drawn criticism, particularly from those who believe he prioritized optics over truth.
Let’s be clear: These aren’t just abstract claims. Patel’s disclosure points directly to foreign-produced fake driver’s licenses being smuggled into the U.S.—an operation designed to feed fraudulent ballots into mail-in voting systems. If true, it’s one of the most significant instances of foreign meddling in U.S. democratic processes in modern history.
And yet, under Wray’s leadership, this intelligence was shelved. The American people were left in the dark.
This isn’t the first time Wray’s FBI has been accused of sitting on vital election-related intel. As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Wray also failed to disclose that Iranian actors had breached U.S. election systems and stole more than 100,000 identities. That information never made it into public discussion before the election either.
With trust in federal institutions at an all-time low, this latest bombshell only deepens the public’s concern that the 2020 election was not conducted on a level playing field. The idea that a hostile foreign regime like China may have inserted itself into the American electoral process—and that U.S. officials looked the other way—is beyond troubling.
The FBI must be held accountable. Congress must get answers. And Americans deserve the full truth—not after the fact, but when it matters most: before they cast their ballots.
