Karoline Leavitt Quits White House — Trump Drops Bombshell Next Role

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will step away from the podium at the end of August, ending one of the most closely watched tenures in the administration’s communications operation.

But Leavitt is not walking away from the Trump administration—or from the Republican Party.

Trump said the 28-year-old press secretary will transition into a senior outside advisory role as Republicans prepare for the 2026 midterm elections. The move gives Leavitt a new position outside the daily pressures of the White House briefing room while keeping her closely connected to the president.
