Over six months after the election, Kari Lake, the GOP candidate for governor of Arizona in 2022, is still battling to have the results overturned. Despite a recent failure, she intends to continue trying and is promoting the largest ballot hunt in American history.
On May 22, the Superior Court rejected Lake’s case, which charged Maricopa County of breaking Arizona law by checking mail-in vote signatures too rapidly. Judge Peter Thompson decided that there wasn’t enough proof to back up Lake’s claims. Despite this, he refused to penalize her for her case, claiming that it had some merit.
Lake isn’t certain it is, and she’s not going to give up. She intends to challenge the judgment. Though her confidence in the electoral process has undoubtedly been shaken, she wants to ensure that the state does better the following election. She said that following the most recent court loss, her group, Save Arizona, will put in a lot of effort during the 2018 election, and is “officially launching the largest most extensive ballot-chasing operation in our state’s history.”
Lake claims that the court has acknowledged that “anything goes” and “ruled that our elections can run lawlessly.” She argued that Republicans could participate in that game as well.

Lake continues to advocate for the cause she feels cost her the election. She believes that maintaining the fairness of each vote is essential to the election process. She is still pursuing her case, and if necessary, she will take it all the way to the Supreme Court. Lake is certain that if the election had been fair, she would currently be the governor of Arizona, and she won’t pass up another chance to realize her aspirations.
