President Trump has signed an executive order to dismantle seven federal agencies, including taxpayer-funded media outlets accused of pushing partisan narratives under the guise of unbiased journalism. Among those targeted is Voice of America (VOA), a government-run broadcaster that has faced criticism for its slanted coverage, particularly during Trump’s presidency.
VOA, originally established during World War II to provide independent news to international audiences, has been under fire for years. The Trump administration previously called out the agency for publishing content that cast the administration in a negative light. “Voice of America has been out of step with America for years. It serves as the Voice for Radical America and has pushed divisive propaganda for years now,” a senior White House official told Fox News.

With Trump’s latest executive action, the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees VOA and other media entities like Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, will see drastic cuts. “The non-statutory components and functions of the following governmental entities shall be eliminated to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law,” the executive order states.
