With just 29 days remaining before the midterm elections, Democrats are looking for a jolt of energy. Instead, they turned to a familiar face—and received a message Kamala Harris has delivered many times before.
Harris has stepped back into the political spotlight to help Democrats organize voters and volunteers for the upcoming election. But rather than unveiling a new agenda or offering a detailed strategy for confronting the issues dominating voters’ concerns, Harris returned to one of her most recognizable themes: power.
The former vice president told Democratic volunteers that their emotional state could determine whether they were capable of changing political outcomes.
“I believe very strongly if you feel powerless, you are powerless,” she told volunteers. “If you feel powerful, you are, you are powerful and we are powerful.”
