A recent poll has revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris is the leading choice for the Democratic nomination in 2028. Despite ongoing challenges and criticisms, 41% of Democrats are backing Harris for another run, according to the Puck News/Echelon Insights survey.
Harris’ strong support stands in stark contrast to the rest of the field, with California Governor Gavin Newsom trailing significantly at just 8%. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is even further behind, securing only 7% of the poll’s respondents.

Interestingly, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg both garner 6% support, hinting at a growing interest in their political futures within the Democratic Party.
