For years, Americans have demanded answers about what really happened on January 6. But instead of clarity, the federal investigation has only fueled suspicion — and now, a newly released video from the FBI is raising even more questions about one of the most mysterious elements of that day: the pipe bombs.
After four years of silence and confusion, Christopher Wray’s FBI has finally released new surveillance footage showing the pipe bomb suspect placing explosive devices near the headquarters of both the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Republican National Committee (RNC) on January 5, 2021 — the night before the Capitol riot. Despite reviewing over 39,000 video files and interviewing more than a thousand witnesses, the Bureau still claims it has no idea who the bomber is. Meanwhile, hundreds of Trump supporters — including elderly Americans and military veterans — have been prosecuted for far lesser actions. That contrast says everything.
The FBI’s new footage included a height estimate of around 5-foot-7 for the suspect. But the most bizarre detail is how these so-called “explosive devices” were designed. The bombs were equipped with one-hour kitchen timers yet were found more than fifteen hours after they were placed. Those timers couldn’t possibly still be active — meaning the devices were never going to detonate when discovered. So, what was the real purpose? Distraction? Political theater? The timing sure makes it look that way.
