A Collision That Should Have Been Unthinkable
Air Canada Flight 8646 was moments away from landing when everything went wrong.
The regional jet slammed into a Port Authority fire truck that had been cleared to cross the same runway. The impact was so violent it ripped away the entire cockpit section of the aircraft, instantly killing both pilots.
Inside the aircraft, flight attendant Solange Tremblay was strapped into her jump seat when the crash occurred. What happened next defies belief.
