JUST IN: Alina Habba CONFIRMS Democrat ARREST!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon,” Habba wrote. “He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.”

Baraka wasn’t alone in his attempt to strong-arm law enforcement. He was joined by New Jersey Rep. Robert Menendez Jr., Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Newark City Council President LaMonica McIver—all Democrats—who stormed the facility demanding the release of illegal aliens set to be deported under the renewed immigration efforts of the Trump administration.

While members of Congress are granted legal authority to access ICE facilities for oversight purposes, a mayor has no such legal privilege. That fact proved costly for Baraka.

“I’m gonna tell the truth and correct them,” Habba said in an interview with Martha MacCallum. “Congresspeople have the right to investigate, and we allowed them in, number one. Number two, the mayor was actually inside the facility, was warned, was asked to leave several times. More than once, [he] refused to leave, was put under arrest inside the facility, walked out when he was told he was under arrest, and then was cuffed. That is what happened.”

Despite repeated warnings, Baraka refused to leave the premises. Homeland Security agents eventually had no choice but to place the mayor under arrest for trespassing—a move that Democrats surely didn’t expect when they attempted to pull off their headline-grabbing act of defiance.

Sources close to the situation suggest that Baraka’s actions were part of a calculated effort to boost his name recognition ahead of the June 10 Democratic primary for governor. By deliberately provoking arrest, he may have been attempting to portray himself as a martyr for the far-left immigration cause.

But Alina Habba wasn’t buying the act.

“It’s called grandstanding, unfortunately,” she stated. “And when you break the law, there’s no grandstanding that will help you. Period, the end.”

This dramatic turn of events exposes the glaring hypocrisy that has plagued Democratic leadership for years. While President Trump and his allies face endless scrutiny and legal warfare for the smallest infractions, Democrat officials like Baraka have routinely thumbed their noses at federal law with little consequence—until now.

The incident also highlights what many conservatives have argued for years: the Democratic Party has abandoned law and order in favor of radical, lawless activism. From sanctuary cities to riots masquerading as protests, the left has repeatedly chosen chaos over accountability.

Trump’s vow to restore justice and enforce immigration laws was one of the key reasons he regained voter support in 2024. This latest arrest is just one more example that his administration is serious about keeping that promise.

With the mayor now facing legal trouble and his stunt backfiring, Democrats may want to rethink their strategy of theatrics and resistance. Because under the Trump administration’s leadership, the message is loud and clear: the law applies to everyone—even Democrat mayors with political ambitions.
