An Obama-appointed judge just took his crusade against President Trump to a whole new level.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, known for his political leanings and fiery bench behavior, accused the Department of Justice of “evading its obligations” in a dramatic escalation of the legal battle over the Trump administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act. The clash has exploded into a full-blown war between the Executive Branch and a federal judge who seems increasingly determined to undermine presidential authority.
This comes after the DOJ refused to hand over sensitive information Boasberg demanded — information related to deportation flights carrying dangerous Venezuelan nationals back to Central America. The administration cited national security concerns. But Boasberg, unimpressed, brushed that aside.

He claimed the DOJ was dodging his prior orders, even accusing officials of ignoring a command to turn back planes mid-air. In a rare move, he granted a 24-hour stay — but not without throwing rhetorical punches at Trump officials along the way.
