Seattle-based District Judge John Coughenour issued a nationwide injunction, declaring Trump’s order unconstitutional. “Since he signed the order, lawsuits have been filed by two dozen Democratic-led states and cities and several civil rights groups,” Fox News reported. “Four federal district judges have issued rulings temporarily blocking the order as it works through the long judicial process.”
Trump’s legal team appealed the ruling, but a three-judge panel refused to lift the injunction, arguing that the administration had not made a “strong showing that [they are] likely to succeed on the merits of this appeal.”
Supreme Court Showdown Likely
Multiple federal courts, including those in Maryland, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, have also ruled against the executive order. The case is set for further review in June, and many experts believe it will eventually be taken up by the Supreme Court.

“The 14th Amendment Right of American Citizenship never had anything to do with modern-day ‘gate crashers,’ illegal immigrants who break the Law by being in our Country, it had everything to do with giving Citizenship to former slaves,” Trump continued. “Our Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves at the idea that our Country can be taken away from us.”
“No Nation in the World has anything like this,” he added, criticizing the U.S. policy of birthright citizenship.
