Jim Jordan, the chair of the House Judiciary Committee and a Republican from Ohio, makes startling revelations regarding possible corruption involving Hunter Biden on Fox News. “What prompted them to come forward? This meeting on October 7, 2022. You’ve got [Delaware U.S. Attorney] David Weiss, Gary Shapley the whistleblower, and four other people in that meeting. We want to talk to those four other people because that’s the meeting that Gary Shapley said ‘that was the red line meeting,’” he added.

Weiss allegedly informed investigators he would “not be the deciding official” on whether to charge Hunter Biden with any crimes even though the offenses were committed in Weiss’ district, according to Shapley, a career bureaucrat with no apparent political connection. Shapley later testified before House Republicans about a lobbying effort to divert the inquiry from other districts where US attorneys who had given to Joe Biden, the vice president, and Kamala Harris, the president, declined to file charges. Furthermore, according to Shapley, his IRS staff was blocked from investigating leads that would have implicated the president.
Due to Shapley’s public utterances, Hunter Biden’s legal counsel is urging Shapley to be charged with a crime.
The Biden administration and US Attorney General Merrick Garland have been aggressively pursued by House Republicans, led by Rep. Jordan and House Oversight Chair James Comer. Democrats had previously maintained that U.S. Attorney Weiss was operating independently, but pressure from the public has compelled them to modify their position on the Hunter Biden prosecution. Weiss was chosen by Garland last week to serve as a special counsel with the authority to look into Hunter’s possible offenses outside of the Delaware district.
