Let that sink in: a Hollywood millionaire wishing economic disaster on factory workers, truck drivers, parents trying to feed their kids — all because of how they voted.
Daniels didn’t stop there. He launched into a smug sermon about Republicans supposedly fearing America’s changing demographics and judicial appointments.
“But when Mitch [McConnell] started stacking the courts 25 years ago, I said it on your show once, they can see it coming,” Daniels said. “The new America that is diverse and treats everyone with equality and respect and dignity, you know, kind of like Jesus did. We’re ready for that.”
That’s rich coming from a man who just wished poverty on millions of people. The arrogance is off the charts — Hollywood pretending to speak for Jesus while condemning anyone who shops at Walmart and votes red.
Daniels wasn’t merely criticizing politicians — he took direct aim at American citizens who work hard and try to make ends meet. When the topic of tariffs and economic pressure came up, Daniels sounded positively gleeful at the thought of Americans suffering.
“Which I think, at the end of the day, that’s what’s going to do it,” he continued. “’Wait a minute, the grocery bill is what? $180 more? I can’t get that car that we have to have unless I pay another $8,000. What? Who do I blame for that? Who do I see about that?’ One person.”
Imagine cheering for families to struggle just to prove a political point. That’s where Hollywood is now — hoping inflation crushes your bank account because you didn’t vote the way they told you to.
Meanwhile, Nicolle Wallace — former Bush staffer turned MSNBC mouthpiece — chimed in with her own bizarre moral lecture, effectively blaming Americans for wanting affordable food.
“And I feel like some of the conversations we’ve had over the last 5-6 years were about this tug, not between right and left, but between decency and maybe if it’s about the cost of things, decency became a luxury. There’s something about decency being the sort of collateral damage, the thing we lose over wanting cheaper eggs,” she said.
So in the minds of the elite media class, if you’re worried about the cost of eggs or how to afford groceries, you’ve somehow compromised your morality? These people are so far removed from reality they actually believe struggling families are unethical for caring about survival.
Wallace — who once helped push the Iraq War — is now lecturing Americans about “decency”? The irony is staggering.
Daniels wrapped up his venom-filled appearance with one last shot at Trump, calling him a “snake oil salesman.”
“He’s a snake oil salesman,” Daniels said.
That’s coming from a man who’s been part of the entertainment machine that sells Americans politically correct nonsense wrapped in glossy packaging. The same machine that rails against fossil fuels while flying private, promotes gun control while hiding behind armed security, and preaches about unity while mocking half the country.
Hollywood used to be about making people laugh and entertaining the masses. Now it’s about pushing leftist politics and punishing anyone who steps out of line.
Jeff Daniels owes his entire career to the very people he now openly despises. The working-class voters he wants to see broke and suffering were the ones who paid to see his movies. They’re the ones who helped make him a millionaire.
But now, like so many in Hollywood, Daniels feels emboldened to spit in their faces — because his real loyalty lies with the radical elite, not the everyday Americans who made him a star.
