JD Vance on Iran Talks: “A Very Good Day”

WASHINGTON — Vice President J.D. Vance reported early signs of progress after the first round of high-level negotiations between the United States and Iran, saying the opening day of talks delivered “a very, very good day” for American interests.

The discussions, which began Sunday in Switzerland, centered on de-escalating tensions in the Middle East and laying the groundwork for a broader framework aimed at preventing further conflict between Washington and Tehran. Speaking in a video message posted Monday on X, Vance struck an optimistic tone about the direction of the talks.

“Yesterday was a very, very good day,” Vance said Monday in a video posted to X.
